Cut into your objects using the object’s geometry.
Press Ctrl + Shift + E in edit mode with one or multiple faces selected to destructively cut into the mesh.
When cutting, the addon will add a cutter object slightly bigger than the original face selected in order to perform the boolean operation. This might add in some cases double vertexes that might need manual cleanup by merging them together
